When They Call You a Terrorist (Young Adult Edition): A Story of Black Lives Matter and the Power to Change the World

Marley Dias is the witty and purpose-driven founder of #1000BlackGirlBooks and author of Marley Dias Gets It Done: And So Can You!. #1000BlackGirlBooks, is an international movement to collect and donate children’s books that feature Black girls as the lead character. Marley launched the #1000BlackGirlBooks drive in November of 2015 with the help of GrassROOTS Community Foundation, leveraging the power of social media to reach a larger audience. The movement went viral worldwide and Marley’s initial goal to collect 1,000 books by February 2016 was easily met and surpassed. So far she has collected over 13,000 books.

In 2018, Marley was recognized by TIME as one of the 25 most influential teens and was also identified as the youngest member of the Forbes 30 under 30 list to date. Marley is also the Executive Producer of Netflix's Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices which is currently nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding Children's Programs category. Marley's #1000blackgirlbooks resource guide can be found at: grassrootscommunityfoundation.org/1000-black-girl-books-resource-guide/
