JOEL A. SUTHERLAND is a mild-mannered children and youth services librarian by day, and a speculative fiction writer and editor by night. His greatest professional satisfaction is getting the right books into the right little hands. He has written four collections in the Haunted Canada series, for which he has won the Hackmatack and OLA Silver Birch Non-Fiction Awards, and Summer's End, a thrilling novel, nominated for the OLA Red Maple Award. In fall 2017, Scholastic Canada launched his new fiction series called Haunted, which R.L. Stine reviewed as "...CHILLING. Loved it!"  He lives in Courtice, Ontario with his wife and children, a golden-doodle and a mountain of books.
